Installation
aantje runs in desktop VS Code and in code-server. There are three ways to install it – pick the one that suits you.
1. From inside VS Code
The easiest way, and the one that keeps the extension up to date for you.
- Open the Extensions view: Ctrl+Shift+X (macOS: ⇧⌘X).
- Search for aantje.
- Click Install.
Prefer the keyboard? Press Ctrl+P (macOS: ⌘P), paste the line below and press Enter:
ext install teitelberg.aantje
Open in VS Code View in the Marketplace
2. Download the extension file
Use this if you are offline, behind a proxy, or run code-server (which usually uses the Open VSX registry instead of the Visual Studio Marketplace).
- Download the latest
.vsixfile from the releases page on GitHub. - In VS Code, open the Extensions view and click the … menu at its top right.
- Choose Install from VSIX… and select the file you downloaded.
3. From the command line
Works in any terminal, including the one built into VS Code, as long as the code command is on your PATH.
code --install-extension teitelberg.aantje
To install a downloaded file instead, pass its path:
code --install-extension path/to/aantje.vsix
For code-server, use code-server --install-extension with the path to the .vsix file.
After the installation
aantje adds an explorer to the Activity Bar. Open it, add a connection to your DuckLake catalog (DuckDB, SQLite or PostgreSQL) and start browsing. Details are in the documentation. Found a problem? Please open an issue.
